What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Commercial HVAC is here with some of the most usual A/C problems in Toronto.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioning system running but there isn’t cool air blowing, you could need to have your refrigerant levels evaluated. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air coming out of your system is actually cool. Call Service Experts Commercial HVAC and we’ll come out and review your refrigerant levels and look into why your AC system is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

One reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it just burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity tends to cause more condensation so an additional matter to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is obstructed. If you can verify these matters, you may be able to discover the problem; if not, give Service Experts Commercial HVAC a call and we can find out what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and review your options to get your system up and running again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It seems simple but sometimes we forget the obvious. If that doesn’t get your air conditioner cooling, check the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause major cooling issues. Another issue that could cause your ineffective cooling is that your AC equipment is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts Commercial HVAC will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your system is causing your problems.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your system is short cycling, or turning on or off constantly, it could mean one of several things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the system is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be back in business. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a part so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because it’s having to work harder to keep your home at a lower temperature.

No matter your problem, whatever AC trouble you run into, Service Experts Commercial HVAC is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get you comfortable quickly.
