What Are Common Air Conditioning Problems?

Service Experts Commercial HVAC is here with a few of the most usual A/C problems in Toronto.

  • No Cool Air

If you can hear your air conditioner operating but there isn’t cool air blowing, you could need to have your refrigerant levels evaluated. Refrigerant is what helps make sure the air being produced by your air conditioning system is actually cool. Call Service Experts Commercial HVAC and we’ll come out and examine your refrigerant levels and look into why your AC system is not giving off cool air.

  • Fan Won’t Rotate

A reason your condenser fan might not be rotating could be that it just burned out and you need to replace the fan. Humidity tends to cause more condensation so an additional matter to watch for is that the water is not draining right or that the drain is obstructed. If you can confirm these matters, you may be able to find the issue; if not, give Service Experts Commercial HVAC a call and we can investigate what has stopped your condenser fan from rotating and go over your options to get your system working again.

  • Not Cooling Properly

First, try lowering the temperature on your thermostat. It sounds silly but sometimes we neglect the obvious. If that doesn’t get your system cooling, take a look at the air filter. If the air filter is obstructed, it could cause significant cooling issues. Another problem that could cause your ineffective cooling is that your AC equipment is not sized properly, and unfortunately this is a common issue when homes are constructed. Service Experts Commercial HVAC will come out and do an analysis to determine if the size of your equipment is causing your issues.

  • System is Short Cycling

If your AC is short cycling, or turning on or off repeatedly, it could mean one of many things. One is that your condenser or evaporator is dirty and in need of cleaning. Once the equipment is cleaned and all obstructions removed, you may be back in business. Keep in mind that humidity also plays a role so if your home cools to the right temperature, but then the humidity causes your home to warm back up, it could result in on-again, off-again air conditioning because the system is having to work harder to keep your home at a lower temperature.

No matter your trouble, whatever air conditioning trouble you run into, Service Experts Commercial HVAC is here for you 24 hours a day so we can get you comfortable quickly.
