The Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning Corporate Office in Plano, TX was thrilled to give 324 pounds of food to Minnie’s Food Pantry, also located in Plano.
“Last September, I had the ability to get a group of people to volunteer at Minnie’s and it was such an amazing experience,” said Amanda Wilson, Operations Specialist for Service Experts. “They do so much more than just collect food – they are a critical part of this community.”
Minnie’s Food Pantry was created by Cheryl Jackson as a way to recognize her mother, Minnie Hawthorne-Ewing D.D., who spent much of her childhood wondering if and where she would get her next meal. In addition to providing meals to families in need, Minnie’s also holds classes to teach families how to incorporate the food they receive to cook nourishing, long-lasting meals. They also give resume support along with financial and job classes to help members of the community get back on their feet.
Since each family receives around 50 pounds of food to last them a month, Service Experts was able to provide meals for six families for the month.
“Each member of the team was so excited that we had this food drive for Minnie’s Food Pantry, and they even took us around their awesome facility,” Wilson said.
